    Hi Rod,

Yeah – I did enjoy watching this. It really confirms what Alex has been saying in the coaching modules.

People are so aware of and fed up of in your face selling – that other strategies are crucial.

Perry makes all the major points Alex has.

    Speak soon,
    Andrew.

I’m not sure what to make of Perry.
Yeah, he’s confessed his online marketing “sins” and gone in a new direction. But he certainly knows how to turn on the hype when he needs to.
I’ve met him and his new wife and he is a hoot!

So, I’m going to the Traffic Summit he’s doing with Ryan Deiss next weekend because everything I’ve seen of his has actionable ideas that seem to work.
It’ll be interesting to hear his current take on the state of affairs (and SPAM) at Twitter.

Speaking of actionable ideas, I searched thru my hard drives and binders and compiled a big list of headlines that have been proven effective to use when writing article titles, Twitter posts, email subject lines, etc.:

    Hi Rod,

Great post, got a lot out of the video, now I understand much better how to use social media marketing. I’ve never used it, I’ve heard alot of good stuff and lot of bad stuff about it, but the video gave me a much better understanding how to use it. Which I will have to start doing as an Alex Jeffrey’s student.

    All the best
    Michael.

    Hi Rod,

Social media can be very powerful when used in the right ways, and this video demonstrates how it SHOULD be used. It is a shame to see so many people making a complete mess out of social media and using it in the wrong way.

It was called ‘social’ media for a reason. It is a way of socializing online, and has been picked up by online marketers because they can reach out and form relationships and help build their brands by using it this way.

It is not a media to sell on, yet so many people think it is. Twitter has become a SPAM haven, and I’m sure there will be some sort of change made to this soon before it gets out of control.

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Yes, you’re probably right about Twitter having to do something about the current spam and that could hurt everyone. Which is usually the case when a select few abuse something.

Thanks, Michael…glad you like d the video. Perry does a great job of desribing it in a way that everyone can grasp. I know the old lightbulb came on for me.

    Cheers,
    Rod

    Hi Rod

This one really knocks it on the head, I suspected it to be the case all along! Social websites are the virtual version of going down the pub or partying!

I am sick of Twitter followers or Fcebook firends trying to sell me stuff or invite me to groups when I have only just met them so I have gone all the way and removed anything from directing to blogs or lists or even free downloads from my automated tweets – I will only offer anything to someone via this means if i know them and this will be outside the social media space.

As he says, its like meeting someone in a party or down the pub – you dont ask anyone to marry you on a first date!
